Computer Music Courses Theory and Practice of new Music and Sound Art
On the 8th of February Labor-Linz in collaboration with servus.at start with a permanent class about Computer Music. As part of the servus Campus program this class covers the theory and application of new and existing technologies in music and sound art, such as sound synthesis, digital signal processing, sound design, sonic diffusion, acoustics, and psychoacoustics. In particular we will learn:
Computer Music no.5 - FFT, Spectral Music and Analysis of Jonathan Harvey
- homework! and questions!
- Theory of Spectrum Analysis. Introduction to FFT.
- Use of FFT in Pure Data for controlling processes..
- Analysis of Jonathan HarveyŽs Mortuos Plango, Vivos Vocos.
- reading: FFT and PD tutorial.
- assigment: create a short etude with the spectrum of some sound material
as the compositional principle.
