Class 3 “Introduction to the use and control of samples and Analysis of
Pierre Schaeffer

– Listening to your homework and public discussion
– Use of samples in computer music and acousmatic music: listening and
analysis of
"Etude aux chemins de fer" by Pierre Schaeffer.
– Control of samples: undestanding management of samples and their control
in real time.
– Assigment: composing a short etude developed with the use of only
three short samples and multiple control procedures.
